Ancestors of her specific tribe of werewolves contributed to the colonisation and oppression of the Native American people, stealing spiritual practices from them and settling on their lands. OOC I'm happy to play this by ear as I'm aware it's a sensitive topic. Ren is aware of the history of her people and is sensitive to it. She does however, follow stolen naming conventions and is known as Rages-Against-The-Odds.
Her father was known as Swift-Claw who was also a werewolf. Her mother is human. I'm happy for Ren to be recognised as a werewolf or something 'other' than human. In canon, vampires usually refer to werewolves as having a sour or unpleasant smell about them like ozone.
